Quinn's First Halloween

Calliope and Quinn had a very successful trick or treating night. NaiNai and Grandpa Corky's new neighborhood in Weaverville was the BEST one we have ever seen for trick or treating . . . there were hundreds and hundreds of kids out that night, and, judging by the loot, it's a very generous neighborhood with good taste in treats.

Quinn found the whole experience somewhat confusing, but hey! CANDY!!! The total amount of time he spent inside his Lightning McQueen costume was about 4 mins, so it was a good thing we had the camera out during that crucial window. Of course, lack of costume did not hamper his enthusiasm at getting candy from strangers. Calliope, on the other hand, knows that the costume is the most important part of Halloween. She wore the gorgeous Rapunzel dress her NaiNai made her for almost three days. She even slept in it on Friday night . . . I wish I had a picture I could post of that.

Calliope's 6th Birthday Bash

We just got back from celebrating Calliope's sixth birthday at Nana and Grandpa Henry's house in TN. As Calliope said, everything was 'most wonderful.'

The prettiest dress here

Calliope wore this dress to church today. When she was complimented on it, she looked around and said, "Well, it's the prettiest one here."

No shame in her game.

Firepit!

Or as Calliope calls it, FIREPOWER!!!
The kids are very excited about the new firepit. And Quinn toasted his first marshmallow. Took him a little while to grasp the concept, but he's a master at it now.

Happy Anniversary (a month ago)

For our sixth anniversary, we took the kids and dog to Montreat for the weekend. It was Quinn's first time in Montreat, and his first time in a creek. They both had a great time, even though Calliope was not too thrilled about falling in.
