My wife and I will be going out for dinner this evening. That means Ruby will spend her first few hours alone in the house. I'm not too sure how irritated she will be but obviously it is necessary. Her evenings are much better now. She sleeps in a little box right next to the bed. She scratches when she wants to go out. She is down to one trip out per night. In the morning (5 or 6 am) though she gets lonely and hops out of her box onto the bed and I let her sleep next to me for about 2 hours. You might say this is coddling her but I would say it is an extra 2 hours of sleep for me.
